Settled by Europeans in the 16th century, Argentina is one of the most developed countries in South America. Coupled with its vast agricultural bounty it has an incredible culinary culture featuring many great cuisines including famous Argentine beef and wine. Since Argentina is located in the southern hemisphere, its season are the exact opposite of those found in the northern hemisphere. Therefore during our cold and depressing winters you have the option to escape to the warm and beautiful weather of Argentina. This is the second largest country in South America, right behind Brazil, and is the eighth largest country in the world. Argentina has an incredibly diverse ecosystem. It features the Andes to the west which form the border between it and Chile. This region is also home to the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere. From the Andes to the Atlantic Ocean are vast agricultural lands known as pampas. To the northeast, on the border of Brazil, one can find luscious rain forests.
